Challenge: Inefficient farming due to unpredictable conditions and lack of comprehensive data.
Objective: Transform agricultural data into actionable insights for farmers, improving resource allocation and yields.
My Role: UX/UI Designer (end-to-end product development lifecycle).
Key Goals: 15% resource waste reduction, 10% yield prediction accuracy improvement, 20% farmer satisfaction increase.
User Research & Discovery:
Conducted 12 user interviews, contextual inquiries, and stakeholder interviews.
Key Insights: Need for simplicity, actionable recommendations, trust, mobile-first/offline design, and visual communication.
User Scenario: João, a soybean farmer in Brazil, seeks a tool to consolidate weather, soil data, and expert advice for precise irrigation guidance, aiming to optimize water usage and boost yields.
Design & Iteration:
Structured application around core farmer tasks.
Iterative process: low-fidelity wireframes to interactive Figma prototypes.
Usability Testing (2 rounds, 8 farmers): Led to enhanced visuals, streamlined input, clearer predictions, and robust offline capabilities.
UI Principles: Clarity, simplicity, accessibility, consistency.
Final Solution:
Designed for maximum user convenience, this versatile web app offers dual access. It was integrated as a seamless widget within the client's internal website, allowing for rapid, in-context access. Alternatively, users can access the full web app independently, providing a dedicated, distraction-free environment for enhanced usability and accessibility.
Emphasis on readability, ample white space, and clear typography.

Impact & Results:
18% reduction in water usage; 12% in fertilizer.
14% improvement in yield prediction accuracy.
85% farmer satisfaction.
20% reduction in manual data analysis time.
This project underscores the positive impact of user-centered design on sustainable and profitable agriculture.
